Foster Care Recruiter (Lynchburg) Individual needed part-time (20 hours per week) to work out of Lynchburg  office in our Treatment Foster Care (TFC) Program. Primary responsibilities will be to design and implement a recruitment plan for foster/ adoptive homes; meet with community organizations and groups to present information regarding the need for appropriate homes; and promote a positive image of the TFC program. Work will often be performed in the community, in group settings, and/or with the media. Some travel is required and work may be performed outside of regular business hours. Must possess strong writing, word processing and communication skills. Must be creative, energetic, committed to the mission and demonstrate good marketing and public relations skills. A Bachelor’s degree in a human services field is required, experience in providing services to children and families preferred.

Day Support Mentors (Madison Heights)
Individuals needed part-time to work with adults with developmental disabilities in our Day Support Program in Madison Heights. Interested individuals must be patient, caring and responsible. Mentors provide supervision, training, recreational & social activities and personal care to adults with developmental disabilities. Applicants must have a minimum of a H.S. diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of training/education and/or experience. Experience supporting people who have developmental disabilities and college course work is preferred. Applicants must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. A valid driver’s license and good driving record is required. Applicants must pass a criminal background check. Individuals needed to work with adults with developmental disabilities in our Day Support Program in Waynesboro. Full-time & part-time positions available. Interested individuals must be patient, caring and responsible. Mentors provide supervision, training, recreational & social activities and personal care to adults with developmental disabilities. Youth Counselor (Roanoke)
Relief staff needed part-time in our Independent Living Program for teens. Responsibilities include providing oversight, supervision, crisis intervention and monitoring to the youth placed in the program while ensuring that policies are being followed. Position provides support & guidance and training individually and in a group setting to teens. Hours would include overnight, weekend and holiday shifts and would be on an as needed basis. Applicants must possess working knowledge of human behavior and performance, have good organizational skills, have the ability to remain calm in crisis situations and have strong assessment skills. H.S. diploma required, Bachelor’s degree in human services field preferred.
